What are the commonly used materials for heat dissipation and electromagnetic shielding of vehicle display screens?
09/12/2022

The environmental testing standards for in-vehicle touch displays are much more stringent than for electronics used in other industries. The operating temperature is strictly regulated, and the touch display screen also needs to deal with issues such as dustproof, shock resistance, anti-glare, easy recognition, and automatic brightness adjustment. For vehicle touch display manufacturers, the test of the harsh environment has become the biggest challenge. Compared with the touch screen used in the consumer electronics field, the touch screen display used in the automotive field is used for a long time under high temperature and high vibration, and it needs to pass the high standard test of high temperature, high humidity and long time.

The following materials can be used as thermally conductive materials in vehicle display systems :

Tflex TPUTTY502 Thermal gelUltra-soft, low-stress use3W/mK thermal conductivitylow dielectric
Tflex HR600 Thermal padlow stress use3.5W/mK thermal conductivityHigh temperature resistancelow volatility
Tflex HD90000 Thermal padLow stress, high deformation capacity7.5W/mK thermal conductivityLow volatility, low permeability oil
TPUTTY 508/607 dispensing thermal conductive gap fillerlow stress use3.5W/mK, 6.4W/mK thermal conductivityvertical flow reliabilitylow volatility
TFLEX CR350 Two-part curable heat-dissipating silicone3.6 W/mK thermal conductivity1:1 mix and cure A/B glueHardness 69 Shore 00Ultra-high pressure capabilityUltra-small coating thickness, custom glass beads can be added

In addition to heat dissipation issues, the sheer volume of on-board electronics also has to deal with a wide variety of high-intensity electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Xinche Electronics is deeply involved in the automotive electronics market. In addition to solving the heat dissipation problem, there are also a variety of material options to solve the electromagnetic compatibility problem.
